From left to right: Eng. Ernesto Martínez and Eng. Gonzalo Sevilla, founders of Sevilla y Martínez Ingenieros C.A. (Semaica).
The origins of Semaica date back to 1956, when visionary civil engineers Gonzalo Sevilla Naranjo and Ernesto Martínez Cobo decided to build more than just infrastructure — they set out to build a legacy of excellence.
After completing their studies in the United States, they returned to Quito, Ecuador, driven by the belief that great engineering must rest on strong values: Respect for the client, Operational efficiency, Reinvestment for sustainable growth, Commitment to our people.
What began as a modest engineering firm evolved over more than seven decades into a diversified multinational group, trusted for its technical expertise, integrity, and long-term vision.
